    Overview

    The Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The operator ensures that production targets are met while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role involves working closely with the production team to produce high-quality products in a timely manner.

    Responsibilities

    • Operate Machinery and Equipment: Safely operate manufacturing machinery and equipment, following the processes in place.
    • Monitor Production Process: Continuously monitor the production process to ensure that machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently. Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
    • Quality Control: Inspect products during and after production to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies.
    • Material Handling: Load raw materials into machines, ensuring proper materials are used according to production specifications.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered.
    • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery, such as cleaning and daily maintenance. Report any need for repairs or replacement parts.
    • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in safety training sessions.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure production goals are met. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
    • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot minor issues with machinery or equipment, making adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous operation.
    • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and materials are properly stored and accessible.
    • The position typically involves working in a production or factory setting.
    • Work hours may include shifts in busy periods with overtime
    • Exposure to loud machinery, chemicals, and other industrial hazards, with safety protocols in place.

     

    Required Skills

    • Previous printing experience is desired.
    • Ability to operate machinery and use hand tools.
    • Basic understanding of production processes and equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail and quality.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
    • Basic math skills for measuring and counting materials.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (typically up to 20kg).
    • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
