The Production Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The operator ensures that production targets are met while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role involves working closely with the production team to produce high-quality products in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Operate Machinery and Equipment: Safely operate manufacturing machinery and equipment, following the processes in place.
Monitor Production Process: Continuously monitor the production process to ensure that machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently. Report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
Quality Control: Inspect products during and after production to ensure they meet quality standards. Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies.
Material Handling: Load raw materials into machines, ensuring proper materials are used according to production specifications.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including quantities produced, downtime, and any issues encountered.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery, such as cleaning and daily maintenance. Report any need for repairs or replacement parts.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in safety training sessions.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure production goals are met. Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot minor issues with machinery or equipment, making adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous operation.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that tools and materials are properly stored and accessible.
The position typically involves working in a production or factory setting.
Work hours may include shifts in busy periods with overtime
Exposure to loud machinery, chemicals, and other industrial hazards, with safety protocols in place.

Required Skills

Previous printing experience is desired.
Ability to operate machinery and use hand tools.
Basic understanding of production processes and equipment.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Basic math skills for measuring and counting materials.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (typically up to 20kg).
