    Overview

    We are currently looking to expand our existing planning & purchasing team to fill Materials Controller role. You will be joining an established team, full training will be provided.

    Materials Controller will also work closely with the marketing, DC and production teams to make sure business objectives are achieved.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Planning and Inventory Manager, the key accountabilities include:

    • Management of material inventory control and operational purchasing, ensuring on time deliveries in line with scheduled & purchase order requirements issued via ERP.
    • Monitor the stock levels, and the system information to ensure that all data is accurate.
    • Build and maintain good relationships with key suppliers.
    • Involved in modifications / changes of materials. Ensuring financial requirements and production specification needs are met.
    • Assist with introduction of new products (NPD).
    • Manage regular stock takes.
    • Support initiatives to achieve inventory targets.
    • Maintain link between specification and ERP system requirements.
    • Day to day problem solving, often including dealing with other departments.
    • Responsible for management and processing of non-conforming material.

    Required Skills

    The successful person will possess:

    • Understanding of inventory control and operational purchasing.
    • High level analytical skills and the ability to synthesise complex data.
    • Previous experience in a similar or relevant role working in a supply chain, manufacturing environment.
    • Proven experience of problem solving.
    • The ability to successfully build strong relationships and effectively communicate across all levels of the organisation.
    • Strong Excel skills and attention to details.
    • Good time management.
    • Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Able to operate effectively & positively in demanding situations.
    • ERP knowledge will be a bonus.
